The year 2023 is esteemed to be a challenging year with the global economic uncertainty affecting the rest of the world, including Malaysia. However, PDC, as an established, matured, and highly reputable development agency of the Penang State Government, has been entrusted to lead the state's growth for more than 50 years, have consistently planned and implemented comprehensive development to increase employment and improve the quality of life for Penang.
In order to fulfil this responsibility, PDC has established a roadmap through the PDC Strategic Plan (2019–2023) that includes a number of high-impact projects that has been planned and carried out to accelerate the state's economic growth. We are determined to implement this Strategic Plan with the assistance of the state government, close cooperation with government agencies, including from the entire PDC workforce in order to achieve the Penang Vision 2030.
In addition, PDC anticipates that Bandar Cassia which is envisioned to be a Smart Eco City concept based on the components of “live, work, play and learn”, is the third township developed by PDC after Bandar Bayan Baru and Bandar Seberang Jaya. It will become the destination of choice for investment, business, work, study, recreation, healthcare and new communities. There is tremendous potential of Bandar Cassia on Penang’s socio-economic growth and PDC hope that it will grow to a more sustainable and smart township.
