PROMOTION AND MARKETING
To undertake the responsibility of promoting the state tourism industry effective 1st of November 2007.
To promote Penang as one of Malaysia’s famous tourist destination by increasing the number of foreign and domestic tourists.
This is done by creating awareness towards the richness and diversity of its fascinating cultures, wonders and attractions by actively:-
Planning and executing marketing and promotional programmes for domestic & international markets
Publishing tourism collaterals
Organising hospitality programmes
Promoting niche markets (i.e. MICE, health tourism)
Participating in tourism promotions locally as well as abroad
PDC is of the view that its efforts in the tourism industry will assist the State Government in developing new tourism products as well as improving the tourism industry.
